Our CSR movement Reconstruire et Vivre “R.e.V.”, (Rebuild & Live) is an NGO that is involved in a variety of socio economic development projects around Sri Lanka with the main aim of improving the lives of locals. Following the disaster of the 30 year civil war and the 2004 tsunami, our CSR projects in Sri Lanka have been mainly directed at improving these affected areas and its inhabitants.
R.e.V. aided in the construction and renovation of houses for tsunami victims in areas of Boossa, Katoluwa and Weligama. Additionally, following the end of the war, two houses were constructed for war widows in the area of Kalkudah.
Our CSR arm also oversaw the development pre schools which included free computer classes and English language classes for younger members of the communities.
R.e.V. pioneered the “Plant a Coral Project”, a much needed initiative, through Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa Passikudah, following the destruction of the reefs by the tsunami. Besides planting, cleaning and maintaining these new corals, the project also aims to raise awareness about the importance of coral conservation.
