Wilpattu National Park, is Sri Lanka’s largest and one of the oldest national parks who’s uniqueness is the existence of around 60 natural lakes. It is also known as the “Land of Lakes”, is a park located around the Northwest coast of Sri Lanka approximately 180 km north of Colombo. The unique feature of this park is the existence of natural lakes. The park is 131, 693 hectares with around sixty lakes and tanks Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s largest and one of its oldest National Parks. At the park one can spot Elephants, Sloth Bears, abundant Birdlife and Leopards if you are lucky!
