Discover the Magic of the Diyaluma Waterfalls Trek

Diyaluma Falls, located near Koslanda in Sri Lanka’s Badulla District, is the country’s second-highest waterfall at 220 meters (772 feet). At its peak lies a natural infinity pool offering breathtaking views over the valleys of Demodara. Formed by the Pungala Oya river, the falls are accessible via a scenic trek and are surrounded by smaller cascades. For those less keen on heights, relaxing pools can also be found at the base. According to local folklore, the falls were created by the gods to conceal the tragic death of a man who fell while trying to rejoin his exiled tribe hence the name “Diyaluma,” meaning “rapid flow of water” in Sinhalese.

Experience the cascade from a unique vantage point while uncovering insights into the region’s rich biodiversity and geological wonders. With transportation arranged via tuk-tuk for convenience, this seamless journey culminates in awe-inspiring vistas and the sheer power of nature, promising an unforgettable experience for adventurous souls.
